Situm and HappyOrNot partner on visitor experience
The partnership will combine indoor positioning and wayfinding technology with satisfaction measurement tools, offering insights on visitor behaviour and informing resource allocation.
Spanish company Situm’s technology merges pre-existing information in the environment, including magnetic fields and WiFi, with information from smartphones, including the compass.
Headquartered in Finland with offices around the world, HappyOrNot is the creator of the ‘four smileys’ application used to collect feedback in 135 countries.
The companies said this joint approach can be used to improve maintenance services, by using visitor feedback on cleanliness to prompt a response from maintenance teams and guiding users to other areas in airports or shopping malls, for example.
Scott Erickson, HappyOrNot’s vice-president of global partnerships, said the agreement would mean “operators of large indoor spaces can make more informed decisions based on the real-time feedback data on visitor movement and perception”.
