US – Industry conference The Market Research Event (TMRE), set to take place this week in Orlando, Florida, has been postponed due to the hurricane forecast to hit the region.

An update posted on the TMRE conference website said organisers had made the ‘difficult decision’ to postpone the event.

"Your safety is our top priority, and we truly appreciate your understanding during this time. We are working quickly to reschedule TMRE and will be in touch with official details as soon as possible," the update said.

TMRE is a three-day event that takes place annually, organised by the Informa Connect division of Informa. Around 1,000 insights and data analytics executives were expected to attend the conference in Orlando between 8th-10th October.

In its latest update, The National Hurricane Center said Hurricane Milton, predicted to make landfall on Wednesday ( 9th October), posed an "extremely serious threat to Florida".
