NIQ adds former Kantar Worldpanel director to Barcelona team

UK – Consumer intelligence company NielsenIQ (NIQ) has appointed Luis Simoes as the new Consumer Panel Services (CPS) strategic projects and Iberia lead.

Barcelona

Simoes will help lead the growth strategy for NIQ’s consumer panel business in Spain and Portugal, as well as developing the company’s product offering, its integrated Discover platform and support local teams.

The appointment comes as NIQ plans to expand its consumer panel in Spain from 8,000 to 12,000 panellists by 2025 as part of its European investment plans.

Before taking up his new role, Simoes was global strategy director at Kantar Worldpanel, where he took part in the acquisition of Numerator in the US and the launch of new services such as Usage, Out of Home and Media ROI.

In his new role, Simoes will remain based in Barcelona. Following NIQ’s merger with GfK, the team is now headquartered in the Nexus building in Pedralbes.
