Onyx raises $10m in funding
In a blog post by Chris Weaver, co-founder at Onyx, the company confirmed other investors including Y Combinator, Gokul Rajaram, Arash Ferdosi and Amit Agarwal, among others.
Onyx, which used to be called Danswer and is based in San Francisco, is an open-source AI research agent that indexes internal knowledge across more than 40 tools such as Google Drive, Salesforce, Sharepoint and GitHub.
The seed funding round will be used to help grow the company, with the company focusing on open-source AI and large language models.
Weaver wrote: “We started Onyx nearly one year ago to make information more accessible at work.
“We were inspired by our experience working at companies big and small, where there was so much institutional knowledge buried in disparate knowledge bases, shared drives, and individual files. Onyx is the open source solution companies use to solve this challenge.”
